I used to have a great driver for my Dell laptop webcam with backgrounds, autofocus, zoom, etc. When I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, Windows hijacked my Dell driver and replaced it with a very basic default webcam, with no settings at all. I know this camera hardware is HD and perfectly clear, but now I am permanently out of focus. The Windows 10 default puts the focal point about 2 inches from the webcam.
This gives Zoom and Skype friends a perfectly clear picture - but only of the tip of my nose. I don't seem to be able to reinstall the old Dell driver, nor is there another Dell driver for my laptop for Windows 10 that I can find. Other users say you can't fix the problem, just stop using the top quality built in camera and buy a cheap external webcam. Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. I reinstalled Webcam Central for Windows 7, it installed, but none of the controls work or change anything on the camera. Windows won't "let it go". I uninstalled the webcam and installed the original Dell driver from the disk. Even though the Windows driver is meant to be uninstalled, it says that the current driver is better and won't let me go further. The Windows webcam device just comes back?
This is the same experience everyone else is having. Lots of shady looking websites offer me. This isn't my Latitude, but I tried it. It installs and loads, but the software is ignored and controls aren't active.
In Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button, compare all other drivers including Chipset, display, sound, etc to make sure you have the latest vs. If these fail try to Uninstall the Driver, restart PC to reinstall.

You can install older Windows versions drivers to Windows 10, often they will work back to Windows 7. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

The application software has been removed from Dell. Does Windows 10 have it's camera software that adds webcam functionality?
